Dr. Vanhove is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with 20 years of experience in clinical drug development, medical affairs and business development. She brings a wealth of experience in clinical trials in all phases of development in small to large pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with particular strengths in therapeutic areas such as pain, oncology, narcolepsy, psychiatry, inflammation, infectious diseases, neurology and dermatology. Dr. Vanhove has a strong understanding of drug development and what it takes to bring a drug successfully to patients in need. She has prepared and filed several new drug applications in the US and Europe and launched and supported new drugs through opinion leader development, scientific communication, external partnerships, life-cycle management, continuing medical education and post-marketing strategy.
Dr. Vanhove has served as a vice president of medical affairs and, subsequently, R&D search and evaluation at Jazz Pharmaceuticals in Palo Alto, Calif. since 2012. She began her career at Abbott Laboratories in 1996. Dr. Vanhove earned an M.D. and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium. Her education also includes a fellowship in clinical pharmacology at Stanford University and an executive M.B.A. from St. Mary’s College in California. A recipient of numerous awards, patents and scholarships, she has contributed to the medical literature as the lead author or a co-author on dozens of peer-reviewed journal articles.
